Hi, I’m Patricia Bonilla

I guide construction professionals to lead their companies with purpose, clarity, and confidence — without burning out. -

Where It All Started

I was born and raised in the Dominican Republic.

From a young age, I knew I wanted to build.

When I chose to study civil engineering, people told me:

“That’s not a field for women.”

I did it anyway.

I studied civil engineering at UNPHU (Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña), and despite the doubts I heard from others, I knew this path was mine.

Eventually, I moved to the United States — with a dream much bigger than the obstacles in front of me.

A New Chapter, A Foreign Land

When I arrived in the United States, I had no roadmap, no capital, and no connections.

My dream was simple: to learn, to grow, and to create a better life for my children.

I earned my Master’s in Construction Management from Florida International University and started working as a Project Engineer and Project Manager for major construction firms.

I climbed with humility, curiosity, and courage.

While building my career, I was also raising my children as a single mother.

I later became Head of Construction for the City of Fort Lauderdale, proving that women do belong in leadership — especially in construction.

The Leap That Changed Everything

In 2007, during the height of a national economic downturn, I made the boldest decision of my life:

I left my government job and launched Lunacon Construction Group out of my garage. No capital. No safety net. Just faith, vision, and purpose bigger than my circumstances.

Within days, I secured my first federal contract.
