In this very inspiring Episode 06 of Season 03 here in Thriving in Construction, The Podcast, Business Consultant at InTown Connection and Founder of Latinas in Construction and Hispanics in Construction, Ms. Edith Yanez, proved to us that if you want to succeed in life, you should be ready to break the myth.

Just like the common belief in the Hispanic culture that women are destined to work at home and take care of the family, Edith invaded the construction industry, which was thought of as a “men-only territory.”

Empowering women with what she saw as an opportunity in construction, Edith and her team are now teaching women to learn not only blueprint reading but also interior decoration, 3D design, and 3D for landscape.

“But for my Latinas in Construction, I wish the construction industry opens more doors for them, so they can work in trades and manage offices. I hope there is more the percentage of Latinas working in construction growth in the next five years. We are so few now that we are not in any statistics. The number of Latinas working in construction is really small.” – Edith Yanez
